11 days are left to my return flight. According to the question if I am looking forward? Well, it’s so nice here.
Last week we got a nice day with really good conditions and I was totally alone at the most awesome flatwaterspot and could kite and practise a few tricks. Fortunately, after so long and it was neccesary for my self-confidence, as I’d thought that I forgot everything. What I actually did, but a couple of things still worked. But as said, it was just one day. On the whole I feel perfectly prepaired for the Trophy and will climb on the winner’s rostrum. Sure thing.
Besides, I have found the best wave in Perth. Why not earlier. Anyway, I’ve been paddleing against waves, currents and locals for about a week now. They know excactly how to defend their territory. If you don’t get the first wave, you hardly have a chance to play with them. I have fun though. Although the best waves break over a reef, but fortunately the reef is not that sharp.
What’s new as well: Today my whole house and I go on a trip to Margaret River again for the weekend. As been said, it is too nice down there. A last trip for me out of Perth. To feel the big waves and distances and wave with a tissue for the very last time.
But there are things you can look forward. Aside of the new Psycho IV, the new boardies by Schwerelosigkite and warm winds, I’m looking forward to see my family again, although it’ll take a couple of weeks to find a date we all can come together. Btw: I’d like to link my brother’s website as he does an awesome job.
So long, you’ll find me beneeth or above a wave before I’ll slop to you.
Without salt, life´s not that sweet. Not being able to taste anything, we got back to Perth safely and breathe smog, inhale neon lights, are annoyed by right-turners on Stirling Highway and the weird shopping hours. In such situations you´d better try not to get used to city life and feel like being on vacation and another trip. It´s exciting here and we have cinemas and Hungry Jack´s back. And that´s so good.
Everyday the area arround Perth is discovered by us and we go to close National Parks, surfing at Secret Harbour or have a look in Perth´s Aquarium to get to know your mates you hang arround in the water. Meanwhile we have newly discovered spots in the south at Mandurah which have a awesome nature site. Damn it. Why haven’t we done that before. So, that´s the way it goes and time flies like an arrow.
Little by little gloves have to be taken off, and I can count the days to my departure. The planings for the Trophy are made and there´s no point thinking about kiting. What to do when it does not blow at all anymore. That´s why we use every wind which´s there and is even happy if you just can ride a couple of meters. I like it.
I´ll work on the new material been taken during the trip through Gwandana and the last days. Otherwise I´ll select more photos, I like to show you.
Well, The new Psycho IV is gonna rock!! I´m really looking forward and you´d better organise test days at Boardway.
Cars, licking oil suck. Paddle is the masterplan and body-boarder take every wave.
Dear diary..
The journey´s been going on and we went up to Kalbarri. We gave us a massive injection full of canyons and hiking through the National Park. It looks so amazing how the stream forms the red stones and builds a spectacular scenery.
We went back through Geraldton where I went to a doctor, cos my flu was becoming worse and worse. Still I can´t hear, smell nor taste properly. And we cook so nice stuff every evening. I´m really jelious on Nik. Let´s see what´s gonna happen.
At least good anti-biotica scaries the wind which is still not there, but fortunately the swell is not impressed. That´s why Nik and I find ourselves more often connected to a surfboard than to a kite.
Anyway, we´ve been enjoying the nice western coastline with its sunshine and swell. And heading slowly down south back to Perth.
