A couple of weeks ago we had the last stop of the Kitesurf-Trophy on the island Fehmarn. The spot itself is far away from being the most adorable beach to go to but if u r lucky having side offshore winds u’ll have really good fun there. In the first round I had to go against Marvin Heimke from St. Peter Ording. I had a solid heat landing a KGB, kiteloop handle pass, s-bend kung-fu pass, blind judge, slim-chance and a frontmobe. So I advanced. In the next heat I was up against Mario Rodwald. The wind dropped slightly to 10 knotes. I could at least land a slim-chance, backmobe, blind judge and a frontmobe. But as the wind was too light I struggled the rest of the heat staying in the judging area. In the end, it really doesnt matter what tricks u show against Mario cos he is a hell of a rider and pushes the sports so much. The final was again Stefan Permien against Mario Rodwald. Mario cld win again. I was so keen on the double elimination to not always be kicked out by the German Champion. The forecast looked promising. Eventually, they run through the doubles for the youngsters and women. So no double for the men. I was dissapointed as there was enough time to go through it.
Yesterday I went rock-climbing with friends in Berlin. That was super fun. Such a shame there’s nothing like that where I live. Today we’re going paddling over the weekend. So that’ll be fun as well..
The new Lunacy 2010 boards arrived a couple of days ago.. So we took the chance and took some pics and rocked the new boards.. Photographer as usual is David Sonnabend who has taken most of the pics you can see on my page. The board feels so good under your feet. They have an insane pop and the landings are super easy to control. You see - I am super stoked.. You’ll find the pics HERE
Next weekend there’ll be the last Kitesurf-Trophy stop on Fehmarn Let’s see, how that’ll go for me..
The last German Trophy Stop on Fehmarn is nearly finished now. As there was some wind on Friday morning we could go for the first Eliminations. The wind dropped a lot towards the afternoon, so we couldn´t finish. My first heat was against Finn Behrens and I won. The second was against Stefan Permien. It´s been the 5th time we have to compete against each other.
Even though bad weather and wind forecast we could go through all the men, women and junior Singles. Stefan was once more the last heat for me the day. And he could win the final again. In the arvo we used the wind for a race. The first heat I won. The second I was in an inferior position against a Silverarrow and rogue Gruber. It was pretty the same in the third heat. So I was in third position again. So at the moment I am in position three.
Let´s see what the day brings. I go to have some breakfast first.
This time the stop of the Kitesurf-Trophy was in Sankt Peter Ording, which was the German Championship at the same time. Fortunately, I got the camper van from Boardway so I could hit the road on Wednesday night already.
The stop was one day longer this time than normally, that´s why there were many kites in the air on Thursday already. As the wind was pretty light and off-shore, we rode for a Best-Trick contest. I could do a double handle pass with my new 12.0 Psycho 4 from Flysurfer but couldn´t land the trick. In the end Mario Rodwald could win again with a nice KGB to blind.
On the next day, we could go for the race. In the first heat I was totally overpowered on my 12.0 I could go on the 6th place. I had to swop on my 10.0 quickly, but was disqualified because I went through the finish line wrongly. Eventually I just got a warning which I didn´t know and therefore didn´t compete the last two races. Anyway, Armin Harich won three of four races and could win.
On Sarurday we could go for the Single Elimination. I had to go against my team mate Sebastian Bubmann in the first heat who was apparently on fire. I couldn´t win although I did some kiteloop handle passes and slim chances. He was simply the better rider and won rightly.
The party on Saturday night needn´t to be unmentioned. It was massive and awesome. Even if you´re not a participant you´d enjoy it!
On Sunday, with a little hangover still, I had to go against René Schmieder in the Double Elimination and could win the heat. I hadn´t have so much fun during a heat before. In the next heat I had to go against Niklas Imaz. Pretty equal but he could land every single trick and therefore won the heat. We´ll see us on Fehmarn again ;)
I´m really happy that my body Jan Schiegnitz could go on the third place! Congrets!
In the finals, it was again Mario against Stefan. Mario could win again and therefore old and new German Champion!
I hope that I will get on the water the next days and rock the Psycho 4 and be fit for the Worldcup!
