Time for an update. I have been in Perth for almost two weeks now and I am loving it. It is super hot here and actually quite windy. Unfortunately the swell is pretty small. Typical summer depression here. Anyways, it’s been fun to be back into waves, even if they are small. So I could take my Dialer for some sessions. So love that fish. Super easy to paddle and nice in turns. Just perfect for the small conditions.
I have not been kiting that much actually. I just finished the upcoming Kitelife issue. As Peter, my fellow editor sort of quit his job, this was the very first issue I had to write all myself. So I’ve been on the water like three, four times. However, I could nail most of my tricks again. So I am back where I used to be, training the frontmobe to blind. Youri Zoon and Cesar Portas are here as well and they make it look so easy!
As I was asked about the bushfires which were on the news in Europe apparently. Everything’s fine. A few homes southeast of Perth were lost but on the whole nothing comparable to the floods on the east coast.
That’s it for so far.
After a long period of no news whatsoever here is a little piece of news again. The photographer, Paul Smyth, is organising a competition in Margaret River down in Western Australia. The local press used a picture of me for the article. I am super happy about this shot as it still has not lost its glamour ;)
What have I been up to? Kitelife takes up more time than expected. Yet it is still big fun. I am working already on the next one. There have been quite a few shots actually in the latest issues. I should really post them here again. Another huge shot is in the Kitelife calender. I am super stoked about that one as well.
Besides that I go to uni and programme another webpage. Slingshot Germany! That is going to be a rad one for sure. So keep checking out Slingshot Germany.
There is going to be more news when I am back to OZ. Promise!
I am super happy to have gotten two double pages of coverage in the some latest kiteboarding magazines. The shot was taken by Paul Smyth. He is pretty much THE West Coast Australian photographer these days and it is fun to work with him. We took that shot a couple of weeks ago at Woodies. It has been published in the Kitelife Magazine and the Iksurfmag. Super stoked about that cos I really like that pic with its colours.
Besides that I just arrived back in Germany after 27 hours of travelling. However it was a really pleasent flight. I got four seats for my own on the flight to Singapore and a seat in the exit row on the flight to Frankfurt. Can’t complain about this journey whatsoever.
