I was on the road again last weekend. This time the destination was Denmark again. After a seven-hour-drive you finally arrive in Denmark. According to the forecast I left my kite-gear in Perth. I just wanted to go surfing. The problem was that the forecast had been completely wrong. So there were constant 22knotes side-onshore. That are pretty much perfect conditions for kiteboarding. Anyway. The next day was really nice with an average swell. Saturday was rainy, no swell and moderate winds again. Okay. That means no surfing again and back to Perth. Fortunately the sun was shining. In the end, never trust a forecast and take always your complete quiver with you.
Besides that I’ve got my last four days left here before I’ll have to head back to Germany again. What to do? Kiting and surfing. Let’s see what the forecast says: And that means a look out of the window. ;)
Last weekend I went down to Margaret River again. The forecast looked good with a 15ft swell. And there were 15ft. Just scary! I have put some pics online. Some are from Nikolaus Seiler from last year. Just to show you the beauty of waves again. ;)
The weather has changed as well by now. Autumn has come and it is cloudy and rainy most of the time. The wind has died pretty much completely. If there is some wind, it comes with a cloud. So the soon it comes, the soon it goes again. More time for surfing than..
So next weekend I’ll be in Denmark again.. It is so nice there and it is one of the best surfing spots I’ve been to so far. Apparently, that’s gonna be the last trip before I have to head back to Germany on the 2nd of April to go back to Uni again.
So I’ll wax my board again to catch some waves.. See yas..
PS: As I have been asked a couple of times if I cannot offer some pictures as a wallpaper, just let me know which ones you wanna have and I’ll talk to the photographers and ask them for a (high re)solution..
Eventually the wind has died off a bit, so it is possible to go kiting well powered on a 9m now. That’s given us the chance to take some shots and train a bit and learn some new tricks.. You’ll find the pictures in the gallery to have a look at them. Most of them were taken by David Grahn. A really talented Swedish guy who unfortunately has to leave on th 17th of March. It’s so hard to get a visa for permanent residence. So I hope that we’ll get some more shots in the near future..
The cultural part of the trip has been John Butler concert so far. Lately I have seen Matt Gresham again and went to a The Cat Empire concert. That was so so good and fun. Although I was deaf the day after I’d do that anytime again!
The next days we’ll try to get some more shots and go surfing as much as possible. Waves a just impressive for a German flatwater - highest wave is a chop 0.2m - specialist like me.
