Halftime
18.05.2008
After a couple of days full with rain, wetness and grey sky, we wanna see coloured motion pictures. We´ve driven from the little cute village Denmark (2.400) to the next bigger town Albany (24.000) and getting warm in a small comfortable cinema hall. It´s being shown American glimmerrock in shape of Iron Man.
You can still recognize the shock the city has because of the shark attack and the main beach Middelton Beach, where it happened, is still closed. They have been trying to chase the sharks out of the bay to the ocean, but concerning to the bad weather, they´ve stopped it for a while. Further we get to know that the sharks were chasing a group of dolphins, since of them was ill. Well, by now does nobody know where the sharks are.
The day after, strong westerly winds were shaking and knocking at our bus when we got up. We´ve found an excellent flatwater spot and we´ve been sick of hanging around without wind in the rain for days and we just wanna feel the salty taste of freedom in our faces again. Does an Australian shark like Germans? And after all, a kiteboarder doesn´t look like a swimmer and we are not planning to go in the water at 7.30am. Nevertheless, we´ve decided to go to the police to get more information. They wanted us to go the Department of Fisheries because they are in authority for that. They are looking pretty weird, when we asked, but get the information that nobody knows where the sharks are at the moment and that there are sharks anyway. We can do what we want, but “It´s on your own risk.”
Well, we´re going to the bay. The wind is gusty but the water is nearly everywhere just hip deep. I have to wear the good old winter wetsuit and it reminds me of the good old Baltic Sea. You could have seen our smile through our long beards for the next two hours.
We´ve decided again to go to the social welfare in shape of the local cinema to get dry. This time it´s shown an Australian movie called Cactus and we are happy to understand nearly every insider joke like (God drives a Holden) and reward ourselves with fastfood.
By now we have been thinking about heading north and escape from the rainy south. We are back in Denmark for another day to catch some waves. I love that bay. But in the end it is too wet and we´re going. To get the van complete dry again is not only good for him. So we are back in sunny Perth for a couple of days to recharge our electronic devices and wash clothes.
To quote Nik: All that glitters is not wicked. But it belongs to our adventure package we have booked.
In a couple of days the caravan will go up north. It is supposed to be windy and sunny there. We are excited.
On this note, look forward to the Nordic Adventures.

Addendum: While I was surfing on the internet, I found more information about the sharks. They are still in the bay. Read the whole story.

Hit the road
13.05.2008
After having packed the Van, Nik and I hit the road down south. A short visit in Safety Bay and Secret Harbour let us be sure that there´s really no wind as well, waves are spectacular and we can drive all the way to Margaret River.
Of course, did we see the awesome sights like the Jetty of Busselton Jetty and the southern Meat Pies. Eventually we set up our first sleeping spot westerly of Dungsborough at a bay called Eagle Bay. As there was no wind, we decided to walk the a bit of the coastline by feet and had to confess, that waves look beautiful and we have to buy some surfboards. Yahoo, was our shop we trust in and from now on we are proud owners of two vintage surfboards.
We went straight into the water of Margaret River and have admit that these waves are just too big and massive for some greenhorns. My head was shaked a bit too hard so that´s why I was hanging arround a bit weird. And as darkness and silence is the best in such a situations, we had a look for some caves that can be very massive and astonishing. Coming back to daylight we drove further south still on the search for wind. The only thing that we found was the rain. A new masterplan had to be done. We decided to hide under the lush forrests of Walepole. Those trees can achieve a height of 60m and you can do a ein Tree Top Walk. Really breath taking. At least now we have to see, that the main saison is over and lots of pensioneers take the chance to go with their massive camper van on tour.
It´s day 10 of our trip and we´ve reached the perfect wavespot. We are in Denmark / Ocean Beach and the nature looks a bit like Norway or Ireland. Especially the rain let the green on the rough costline look even more green and shining.
After wind knocked at our van today in the morning, we went down like thursty calves to the waterhole which is just toe deep and we tried our best. But the wind seemed to had read the forecast and recognized that it was not supposed to be there. As it, we decided to go again and we grabed our surfboards and jumped into the surf. It´s so much fun and we can say that we do the sport now more and more on purpose and catch a couple of waves. At least the group of the surf students which are only 6 or 7 years old riding next to us and get every wave awaked our ambitions. We came with a huge smile from the water which disappeared, when another guy told us about the yesterday´s gestrigen shark attack. Another surfer were biten in the leg just a bay next to us but could survive the attack. It was a 5m long white pointer. Sharks are just everywhere. Gonna see if he is on a journey as we are, or if he stays a bit longer here.
Well, we have to go and wax or boards again to have no more excuses.

Btw: who wants to read how Nik´s been seeing the trip has just have to click here.
Off we go..
03.05.2008
After having lived in Perth for the last three months and the fact of having no wind since the last three weeks makes me hit the road. Additionally, I must confess that I fell in love with surfing. So now I´m going with Nik who´s a pretty popular photographer, printed as a local hero in the Kitelife Magazine, down south to catch some swell. Hopefully, we´ll take some good footage. We have already taken some shots in Safety Bay and I am really impressed how he takes these awesome photos. Take a minute or better half an hour to get lost in his albums. We don´t have any certain itineraries, that´s why I´d love to excuse possible non-updates of the website. I´m gonna take every possibility to updade this page.
If we´re not on the beach we paint Ruben´s car. A real eye-catcher. Or I do some promo-stuff with Flysurfer and now I´m not the only one who loves the Flysurfer concept. You can read what they think on Seabreeze.com.au.
That´s it. Take care. And the wheel is on the right and I hate right turner.
It has become true!
01.05.2008
When André contacted me to get some information about Bottlenecks a month ago, I thought he wanted to play tricks on me. Bottlenecks was actually the combo, I played with a long time ago. I told him a couple of things about the band and I had to remind the old days. In the end, it is a part of another podcast about damn good former bands from the town I grew up. We had really good days.
After having seperated pics for magazine I´d like to show you those pics which are not good enough for mags but which are still good shots. As always they can be found on my gallery.

Interview on www.Kitesurf-Trophy.de
18.04.2008
G´day,
Pascal of the Kitesurf-Trophy was pretty nice and asked me a couple of things. He put it on the internet where it can be found HERE.
It is in German but still you have a couple of nice shots.
Eventually I´d like to finish the trickbox with a KGB. But I have already new stuff in the pipeline. So stay tuned.
Something in the end: My harness has been stolen as well and my camera is completely fucked. So if you feel like helping me out of this dilemma, you´re really welcome.
One good thing´s followed by two bad things
16.04.2008
How are you goin´?
Sorry, for having been "off" for a while and haven´t updated you. I have been busy capturing and editoring new material and collect photos for magazines. I have to say that you have to wait a bit to watch part II of my Australien video. The reason is, that part II won´t be a real part II. It´s gonna be something on its own and be released on DVD by a german kite-magazine. I´m sorry for that, but I love to get the chance to have a video on DVD. Instead for part II I´ll go on with the trickbox and show you the 313.
Some other news. em.
There´s a massive charity thing in Perth once a year called Prosh. Students wearing stupid things collecting money through selling papers at traffic lights or wherever you can sell them. This money is for charity like education projects. Since this has been done for the last 72 years, every one from Perth knows what´s going on when heaps of students jump in front of their car at 6am. And they are pretty keen on spending the money. Well, I´m not an Australien student. But nevermind. I was in the faculty of law and our topic was jungle what we took pretty seriously. Eventually we had to recognize that non of us had really hit the topic because there´s no gay tiger with a hippo hat nor a zebra nor a jungle rooster living in a jungle. And what the fuck is a jungle rooster. Anyway. We went to the uni and grabed some papers and were driven to the suburbs to sell the them. The highlight is that in the end there was a huge parade through the city centre. That was good fun. And it is astonishing how much money you can collect for charity. Every city shall have something like this. That was the good thing. Now the bad things:
When taking the last records to the video the cam got a bit water in the inside. Now it is fucked. I´ll take it to uncle sony this arvo.
Second thing: Some fucking cunts entered our backyard and ripped some stuff out of my housemates car. Surfboard, kite and board been stolen. Additionally, Sven´s board´s stolen as well. Now I´m kinda pissed off. I´ll keep you updated if I know more. BTW: the Australien police is so relaxed, that they didn´t come arround and everything was done on the telephone. Probably I like German bureaucracy and thoroughness a bit.
So far and take care.
Western Australia Video - Part I
01.04.2008
This is the first video from my trip through Western Australia. The work on Part II has already begun. Have fun watching Part I so far.

Happy Easter and some other news
23.03.2008
I hope you have a great Easter time and use the few days off to be with your family and look for some chocolate. It´s kind of funny to have Easter in fall and not having this lovely Easter Bunny. But nevertheless I decided to bake a Easter Bread and do what we do every day. A huge BBQ.
As a present, I bought a original didgeridoo at Didgeridoo-Breath to give it to me. It´s a super cool shop in Freo where you can go whenever you want to and you learn a lot. Hopefully, I can start working there but the problem is, that the saison has nearly finished, so there are not that many people anymore visiting the shop. Whatever. I learn playing it anyway.
What I haven´t told you yet. We were in this local brewery Little Creatures which is actually built like a bar, where you can drink your beer between these massive tanks. While drinking my cappuccino I heard a pretty familiar sound. SEEED!! And they really played the complete New Dubby Conquerors record. Yeah!!
All in all we still go kiting and fishing; read a book or cut new material every day.
Tomorrow the new trick video will not be published, since I wanna put my new Western Australia Video Part I online. The next trick will be published the week after. Don´t be too sad, as you have the new Australia video.
I wish you a lot of fun and some good relaxing days.
Xavier Rudd and New Trick
15.03.2008
I´m back from the Blues and Roots Festival in Fremantle where Xavier Rudd played as well. I couldn´t effort the entrance fee that was why I had to listen to the concert outside the fence. Not disturbed by the barrier I had goosebumbs for more than an hour because the sound was good though. Tomorrow G.Love and Special Sauce will be at the festival. Probably I´ll be there and listen again to fuckin´ good music. The new trick explained is a S-Bend. So have fun and I keep you updated.
New trick and Margaret River
10.03.2008
At the weekend Sven and me were in Australia´s South-West. We went down to Margaret River which is a region extending 100km along the coast line. All the animals and plants are awesome. The area is famous for its wine and, of course, for the beautiful surf spots.
I must confess that I still haven´t got the words to tell what it is like, because it is epic. The photos show a lot but cannot send the feelings.
Additionally, there is a new trick video. This time it is a Slim Chance. Have a look in my gallery and watch out the trickbox. Check out what the up-comming video will be.
Thanks for your patience and take it easy.
Trickbox and 2nd Place at Woodies Kitecross
03.03.2008
From now on a trick will be published on my gallery every week. An S-Mobe is the start. Will see what will follow. So stay tuned to get to know which will be the next trick.
Yesterday there was a big kitecross at Woodman Point, Ian an me joined. We did the runner´s up. The goal was to ride a parcours as fast as you can and show a freestyle trick in the end of the run. Actually I won the freestyle trick.
BTW: I cut the first material of OZ yesterday and can say, that´ll be great action on the Australia Video!!
Dolphins, Kiteboarding and City
28.02.2008
Hey Mate,
After having some wind the last few days and being busy capturing the new material, I am now able to write some news on my site. It is 2.08am right now..
I have updated my gallery. This time I have put some pictures concerning surrounding. It is not only about kiteboarding. I must confess that I have stolen some pics from Sven´s webpage who takes care of his website very well. It is really worth have a look on his site.
Today were 41°C and some Dolphins crossed our ways. Nice creatures..
Besides this, we were kiteboarding a lot and Toby (Core Online Magazine) made some good shots and we filmed a bit as well.
Pile left yesterday and we are pretty sad. Silvester will leave on 5th.
What I have to say at least: I´ve done my first frontmobes and I´m pretty stoked. I hope that it goes on that way..
Stay tuned.
Good Winds..
Website starts in English now
22.02.2008
How´s it goin´?
My website starts in English from now on. As I am currently in Australia and some of the Australien people look on my site, I decided to let it start in English. You still have the opportunity to click on the German-Button to enjoy it in German.

Fremantle, Point Walter, New Website
21.02.2008
G´day
eventually, we´ve found a roof in Fremantle where we will stay for longer. The house is close to a beautiful park and it is not too far from our favourite spot Woodman Point. To get in the city means an half an hour drive but as you know, distance is a different word than in Europe, which means it is ´round the corner. Pictures can be found on my gallery again.
As you can see has my website a new design. That is because there were some problems with watching videos on my site and old browser didn´t want to come along with it. To have no problems surfing on my site all the png has been kicked out. More about this can be found on my brother´s website.
We´re going to Woodman Point now and I try on my back-mobes again to let them look better.
Cheers
Kitestock
19.02.2008
I´m back from Dongora after an awesome weekend. For a couple of days Ian and me were to a Kite-Event, an 4 hours drive north from Perth. At this event whole WA meet to talk about kiteboarding by having a BBQ and a beer. There were a lot of nice people and quite good riders and it was a lot of fun to ride with together and rippin´ hard. In the evenings good live bands played with sweet slide guitar riffs.
Today´s monday and we moved over to Toby´s place. Great house. Gonna see for how long we´ll stay here.
Someting important. I have a new mobile number. So if you´d like to contact me: 0402551233
Will put some new photos on the gallery the next days. Cheers mate. Go to bed now..
woodmann´s point
12.02.2008
Since the seabreeze had risen we drove down to Woodies today. I´m impressed by the bloody flat water. Incredible! The guys push me hard and from now on, the kite´s gonna be kept low. Hard hits into the water inclusive! But for a little more style one tries something.
Watch out the gallery and see Australia by some crazy kiteboarder´s eyes.
Arrived in OZ
10.02.2008
After having packed my stuff which had a weight of 42kg I was ready to leave at 4.30 am. I met Pile in Berlin and the two of us went by train to Frankfurt Main where a plane and Sven should be waiting for us. First of all we were absolutely shocked by the prize we had to pay for the overweight luggage (220 Euros) and flight to Dubai. Relaxed Flight. When we arrived, we were confused by all the people wearing white clothes laying on the floor like bugs. What the f**k was going on there?

Ok, next step; an 11 hours flight to Perth. You are loosing every sence of dimension, room and time. After we had completed the -can I have a look in you bag- way and -what are you gonna do- small-talk, Ian (FS Importeur) catched us from the airport and took us to a backpackers. The most beautiful was booked out.. We decided for the most ugly one we had ever seen before. Even the roof didn´t worked. That´s why, raindrops were falling on our heads and we woke up very early.

The next day we bought the most awesome used car you can ever image. An Mitsubishi Magna Combi!!

After that we were searching for an accommodation and hadn´t found sth. good. No time to even think about kite-boardning. At the moment we have a nice apartment in Cottesloe for the next couple days. In the next week we can stay over at a friend´s place. YEAH!!

By the way: We were kiting yesterday. And it was awesome.. Stay tuned.. Check out the other websites of Silvester, Pile and Sven..
New Gear
28.01.2008
Fortunately, the new Flyboards arrived just in time before I´ll leave to OZ. They are so awesome nice. Additionally I´ve found the perfect bindings and I´m totally happy, that Concept X supports me. According to Australia, I can say, that Pile the King will join us.. That´s gonna be the next Episode III..
video of the Event in obertauern
23.01.2008
Here is a little impression of the trip I did with Flysurfer to Obertauern. As there was no wind, it is more a travel video. Not too serious, but nevertheless very funny.

New Year; new country
09.01.2008
I´m sittin´ in my nearly empty room and count the days which are left for my trip. It´s a really liberating feeling to get rid of all the unused stuff which hasn´t been used for years. It´s amazing that you don´t need plenty of things. On the whole; a notebook, internet and a couple of other little things.
My tickets and passport are locating in front of me waiting to be used. On the 5th February I´m gonna fly to Australia. Silvester Ruckdäschel will be with me and we´re planning to do some good shots.
The next days I have to write some papers for my studies but after that; rock ´n´ roll!!
Holy days after X-Mas
29.12.2007
I hope that you´ve overcome the holidays as good as i did and that the boxing day was good to you and you´ve got lots of toys you wanna try out the next days.
My project to get 5 kg on my hips failed extremely not knowing why as I ate almost everything. That I´ve lost it over night when i danced could be one possiblity.
Anyway: I´m back in Greifswald and I´ll go back on the water with the Kitelife Magazine tomorrow. I´m keen on ripping again!!
2nd place - German Snowkite-Championship
09.12.2007
I´m back from a very succesful event. We had very few snow but we could ride with good wind a sun. In the end, I hit the 2nd place!!
Snowkite-Open Obertauern
26.11.2007
At the weekend I was at Obertauern to train for the coming German-Snowkitemasters. It was a kind of stressful but nevertheless worth to do it because of the party!! Pictures will follow and i´m not sure if the video is for public. you´ll see..
New Video together with Stefan Permien
18.11.2007
Spontaneously I visited Stefan Permien .
Hanseboot exhibition in Hamburg
04.11.2007
This year I was anxious to be at the Hanseboot exhibition. That´s why I decided to support Peter Müller at the Flysurfer´s stand. An excellent time we spent there. hope we´ll do it next year again.
Hvide Sande Denmark
10.10.2007
As I handed in my study works and hadn´t had to work as a kite-instructor, I decided to go to Denmark for one week. Pure relax-time. Although there was just enough wind for the Silverarrow and 15.0 Speed II, I had a real good time up there.
Kitesurf-Trophy Fehmarn
02.09.2007
The last stop of the Kitesurf-Trophy took place on the island Fehmarn. Although there was a weak side-off to off-shore wind, the boarder-cross was ridden. I just hit the third place in my first heat, so in the end i got the 12th place.
Afterwards the freestyle-heats took place. I had to ride against Julian Hosp, which pushed me a lot. I landed almost every trick - Julian as well. He won the heat. What a close thing. In the Double, I had to ride against Julian again. My binding broke during the heat after a KGB. Julian hit the next round.
Finally Mario won again the stop. So he is the Trophy Champion of this year.
5th place at the German Championship
05.08.2007
It was the first time for me to ride at the German Championship in Sankt Peter Ording. In the end, I could achieve the 5th place. In the single-elimination i won against Fabian Haberkorn, so I had to compete against Stefan Permien. I lost.
As there was not enough wind to ride the double i still could keep my 5th place.
Eventually, Mario got the 1st place. Congrets.
